(April 21, 2017) — MTO is advising that a full closure of Hwy 400 northbound and southbound from Highway 89 to Innisfil Beach Road is scheduled to occur from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday April 22nd to 8:00 a.m. on Sunday April 23rd, 2017.
The closure will result in the following: Highway 400 northbound: on-ramp from Highway 89 will be closed; Highway 400 southbound: on-ramps from Innisfil Beach Road and the Innisfil ONRoute Service Centre will be closed.
This closure is required for the demolition of the bridge at Line 4.
Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes for the duration of the closure. Access to Highway 400 northbound is available via signed detour route by Highway 89 westbound to 5th Sideroad to Innisfil Beach Road eastbound. Access to Highway 400 southbound is available via signed detour route by Innisfil Beach Road westbound to 5th Sideroad southbound to Highway 89 eastbound.
Trucks must use Highway 27 northbound due to weight restrictions on 5th Sideroad.
As well, Highway 401 eastbound collectors from Kipling Avenue to beyond Weston Road is scheduled to be fully closed nightly from midnight to 7:00 a.m. on Friday April 21st and Saturday April 22nd, 2017.
Motorists will be forced into the express lanes at Kipling Avenue; On-ramp to Highway 401 eastbound from Highway 409 eastbound will be closed. Access is available via the express lanes; Off-ramps to Islington Avenue and Weston Road Drive will be closed; On-ramp to Highway 401 eastbound from Islington Avenue will be closed; Access to Highway 400 is available via the express lanes.
This closure is due to construction and is weather permitting.
